How To Make A Wine-corks Dartboard

Wine-corks Dartboard

1. Tools and parts

• Wine-corks: 200 to 250 counts.

• Dartboard: 17' inch dartboard (you can find it on Amazon, link here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005K3ZR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

• Plywood sheet: 1/2'' 2'x4' MDF, you should find the one with a thickness of 0.5' inch. (Referred color: yellow, brown or related to the color of the corks).

• 2 Chalkboard (size 8' x 10').

• Tools: Hand-saw, drill, knife, cutting board, 6 screws (4 in 2inch; 2 in 1inch), wood-glue, super-glue.

2. Repair

• Cut the wine-corks into half, so you'll have about 400 to 500 counts. The reason for doing this is to increase the number of counts that needed to cover the plywood sheet; another reason is to help your board look more connected in the small space between the wine-corks.

• Wine-corks are sometimes very difficult to split them in half. Tips for cutting corks easier are used corks are much easier than new corks in splitting them in half; if the corks are too hard to cut, boil them up and cut them.

3. Step-by-step Instruction

Once you have everything ready, the process would be much easier and faster to get done.

• Measure the position of the dartboard, the chalkboards, and the shelf on the plywood sheet.

• Draw the outline of the boards to mark the position for them.

• Remove and apply wood-glue as well as super-glue on the back side of the boards and the shelf, then put them in the marked position.

• Let's it dry for 15 to 20 minutes.

• Turn the whole board upside down, and install four screws (2inch) in the back of the sheet at the dartboard position to firmly fix the dartboard with the plywood sheet.

• Install the two screws (1inch) at the shelf.

• Turn the sheet again with the upside up. Arrange the wine-corks at your disposal until they completely cover the surface of the plywood. 4. Finish

• Make sure your plywood sheet was fully covered by the wine-corks, there are some spaces that the corks won't fit in, you just need to customize them by cutting them smaller or any kind of shapes that make the board fit and look nice.

• Let it's dry for 24 hours and your wine-corks dartboard is ready for any competition in the world.
